My daughter loves music, and since we are evil and don't let her watch television, she gets to listen to music whenever she wants, aka 24/7. When our TiVo desktop software is malfunctioning and we can't listen to our iTunes library (read: ALWAYS ... TiVo *hates* Macs) I turn the tv onto one of the digital music channels. We rotate usually between Jazz, Blues, and Bluegrass as these are some of her favorites, but I recently stumbled upon the Showtunes channel. Lord have mercy, my drama f@# has been released! I sigh and remember all the (bad) shows I was in, the (good) shows I dressed for, the college days where it was all so surreal, the songs, the dance! Nicola loved to see my tap routines (sans tap shoes and choreography, natch) and I've rediscovered my obsession with all things Carol Channing.
There are also, it should be noted, some horrible songs our there from shows I've thankfully missed.
Now that I'm moving back to the West Coast, I find myself regretting I didn't hit Broadway more often. Ah, well. I'll get over it. :-)
